Market Fit Score

A structured way to pressure-test whether an idea has enough evidence to justify a real build, a customer conversation, or a sharper business case.

Problem Statement

Ideas usually become expensive before the assumptions underneath them become explicit. A concept can sound compelling while still leaving unanswered questions about customer pain, feasibility, willingness to pay, differentiation or execution complexity. Market Fit Score creates a structured checkpoint before a large build. It does not try to predict whether a company or product will succeed. Instead, it makes visible what is known, what is assumed, where the largest risks sit, and which evidence should be collected next.

Approach

Market Fit Score assesses four strategic dimensions: Market Attractiveness, Commercial Potential, Feasibility and Differentiation. Execution Risk and Confidence are evaluated separately. The result surfaces an overall opportunity score, confidence, observed evidence versus assumptions and unknowns, risk drivers, the biggest unknown, validation actions, a recommended MVP direction and limitations. The current verdict families are BUILD, VALIDATE FIRST, REFINE and DEPRIORITIZE.

Learnings & Hiccups

The score is a directional decision filter, not a forecast of market success. Evidence coverage should not be presented as a probability of success. The framework is intended to complement customer interviews, market research, prototype testing and pricing validation rather than replace them.
